Can anyone recommend any inexpensive movers in the area? I'll be moving from Springfield to Lorton at the end of the month. Thanks in advance!

I'm working on a home improvement project and would like to get some glass tiles cut in a professional glass shop, rather than try to do this myself. Does anyone know of a glass shop in the DC metro region? I can go anywhere in the city and would travel down in to Northern Virginia or the surrounding Maryland region if necessary. Thanks for any suggestions!

Dear All, a friend of mine is looking for an accommodation for three months starting from May 14. She is coming for the internship, from Europe. If you or your friends wish to sublet your room for this period please let me know. Preferable location - within 30 mins from the center (WB, IMF) or in Georgetown. Thank you!

Hey DC!

I'm going to be in a wedding on Memorial Day Sunday and I'd like to get my hair styled beforehand. I don't want an updo (I plan on wearing it down), but I have medium-long curly/messy hair (specifically: layered, longer than shoulder-length, fine, very curly hair, but LOTS of hair so people usually think it's coarse from afar) and I'd rather pay someone to make it look nice rather than try and deal with it myself day of. Basically I just want a wash, blowdry and styling with some nice products. I have to be in Columbia for the wedding by 2pm and I'm staying in PG County.

I used to live in PG County and go to Bananas, but they aren't open until the afternoon on Sundays.

Are there any salons that are open by 10am on Sundays where I could get this done? I'd prefer to stay in the College Park/Hyattsville, MD area, or at least within ~20 minutes driving from there. Does not need to be Metro accessible. I'd like to spend less than $50 (pre-tip) but more would be ok for a great stylist.

Any help? Thanks!

Does anyone know of a David's Bridal or any bridesmaid/prom dress shops in the DC area, NEAR a metro? Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations on a place to throw a birthday party for about 15 or so people (adults)? Ideally, I'd like it to have decent table space for board game playing (so it shouldn't just be a restaurant where you can't spread out to do that). Metro-accessible (or as close to it as possible) would also be preferred; I'm fairly open about whether it's in DC, MD or VA.

Thanks!

So I'm looking for a gym with a pretty limited budget. I'm a DC resident and see that some of the DPR-run community centers have fitness centers inside of them. Can anybody tell me what they're like? I'd likely be using the Palisades one or any that are in Ward 4.

I'm going to be driving from Glover Park/Georgetown area to McLean and back on a Thursday afternoon. I'm not a frequent city driver so I don't know the roads too well, but I am pretty sure that at least some of the roads that are options are one-way during rush hour. It will be at least 3 PM by the time I'm heading out of McLean. If I use Google Maps on my phone for directions, will it know which roads have become one-way due to rush hour? If I plug in the addresses right now, it tells me to take the GW Parkway. Do you all agree, or do you have other suggestions?
Thanks!

If any individual or couple is interested in season tickets for the Caps, my mom's looking to split her season tickets this year.

She has two (good) upper-level, end-of-row, Attack Zone seats and is looking for someone who wants to do a split.

You'd get 10 games with 2 tickets to those games, plus 20 single-seats. (AKA - you get both seats for ten games, she gets both seats for 10 games, and the two of you would split the other 20 games).

She'll do a draft so there's equal chance for everyone to get the tickets they want to the games they want.

More info: http://capitals.splitseasontickets.com/sstickets-web/p/listing.do?ugs=14320 or message me here on LJ.

Thanks!
